Monster invades my basement

Daddy assembled a monster this evening, right in the middle of the basement. Now, I can't run around and chase my toys or go to the bookcase to sniff some old stinky books.

It's a big black contraption. Daddy sat on it and made different arm movements that made the monster move.

I barked and barked, but the monster didn't get scared. I was afraid to get too close to it, so I barked from a far.

I showed it my meanest teeth and put on my scariest bark and howl but to no avail. Nothing. It didn't budge one inch! It was not afraid of me. And I wanted to show it who's the boss. I'm have the run of the basement, not this monster.

Now it's difficult to enter the basement, because this monster is at the bottom of the stairs and I'm afraid to get too close to it. Who knows, it could start moving even when Daddy isn't sitting on it.

So I have to run by it fast and as close to the other wall as possible.

I need to come up with a scarier plan.

Maybe I could ask Mister Hoover for help (but Mister Hoover and I are NOT really the best of friends.)

Lights out, unh-huh, flash, flash, flash...

While minding my own business at home reflecting on the richness of my day, you know, chewing Daddy's chair, eating a pair of socks, and laying in the sun on Mommy's big, purple friend, I suddenly couldn't see my paws anymore. What was I to do? I could roll over and sleep it off, or take action! I immediately jumped to the couch for persepctive and discerned strange, flashing lights on the street where I cross to go to the park. One of my friends, the big oak tree had had a nasty fall and was wrapped around some really long, black spaghetti type things. Fire was shooting out and I was scared.

I hid under a blanket. Luckily, it wasn't any longer than a few tense moments when there came a noise at the door. Were those strange men after my fur? Or worse, did they want my toys! I quickly grabbed my paper, my tennis ball, and the bone, and placed them safely inside my den. The door opened and I hid and waited in the dark. The man with the jingly keys looked around and I was scared! MARIPOSA! Yea!....it was Daddy and he quickly scooped me up and lit some candles so I could see. Then he made me my favorite dinner, lamb and rice! He explained to me that it was nothing to worry about and the dark would be gone soon.

Then the phone rang and we went for a ride to pick up Mommy! From there we drove, and drove, and drove some more to a strange house I didn't recognize until the door opened and....Grandma! Daddy really saved the day.

A four legged animal

I was running and sniffing in the woods with Mommy and Daddy and everything was smelly, stinky and great.

But then, when we came to the grassy park at the end of the wooden trail, there was a humongous animal with a man on top. Daddy went up to pet it. It was kind of like me, brown and four-legged, but much, much bigger. And it had a weird ponytaily tail and some sort of mohawk. And there was a man, a police man, (my favorite) on top of it.

Daddy went up to pet it. But I thought he needed protection. After all, that animal was huge. So I barked, and howled, and barked some more.

Finally, the man and the animal turned around and left.

I knew they wouldn't be back to bother us anymore!
